For the eighth year in a row, the World of Little League® Museum has earned at least one ISHY Award for its unique content, bringing home three awards as part of this year’s honors, presented by the International Sports Heritage Association.
“Providing individuals with the ability to learn about our history is such an integral part of bringing our museum to life, and we are humbled by the continuous recognition by our peers with this honor,” said Adam Thompson, Director of the World of Little League Museum. “At Little League, we embody the value of being a good teammate, and I could not thank the communications team enough for all of their hard work and efforts in bringing these stories to life.”
This year’s awards were presented in the following categories:

#GWG50 Campaign

In 2024, in celebration of 50 years of female inclusion and the 50th anniversary of the Little League Softball® World Series, Little League® launched its Girls with Game 50 (#GWG50) Campaign. Throughout the year-long celebration, which was proudly supported by DICK’s Sporting Goods, Little League produced feature stories, video storytelling, volunteer spotlights, pep talks from inspiring alumni, a new in-person museum exhibit, and a local league celebration toolkit to promote and strengthen its strategic focus on female opportunity and inclusivity.

Digital Exhibit: The Story of #11
On September 11, 2001, at just 22 years old, Michael Cammarata ran into the World Trade Center as a sworn-in New York firefighter, saving countless lives before he was reported missing. A decade before the date of the attack, Cammarata wore No. 11 while playing right field in the 1991 Little League Baseball World Series as a South Shore (N.Y) Little Leaguer, coincidentally listing his name as “Cammarata 9/11” in the scorebook for his position and number.
Produced in coordination with 20/20 Visual Media, “Why #11 Holds a Special Meaning to All Little Leaguers,” dives into why No. 11 is the only number retired at the Little League Baseball® World Series, as well as the East Region, and why it means so much to Little Leaguers across the world, including 2024 LLBWS Mid-Atlantic Region participant, Tyler Neeld, his father, and great-grandfather. The video storytelling also received a 2025 Mid-Atlantic Regional Emmy Award, as presented by the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, in the human-interest short form category.

The ISHY Awards program was established to provide recognition for excellence in publications and exhibitions by all member sports museums, halls of fame, or sports heritage organizations, based upon a competition evaluated by a panel of ISHA Officers and organizational members. We split each category into three categories depending on their organizational budget for Small Organizations, Mid-Size Organizations, and Large Organizations.
The International Sports Heritage Association is a non-profit membership organization incorporated in 1971.
