When Brandi was just 14, she lost her mother to breast cancer. Grieving and searching for stability, she found a new kind of family at Boys Town. At her lowest point, Boys Town caught her, giving her the support, love, and stability she desperately needed. At Boys Town, Brandi found her childhood again.
Years later, genetic testing revealed that Brandi carried the same breast cancer gene as her mother. In a remarkable twist of fate, she crossed paths with Denise, a longtime Boys Town employee who also carried the gene. That connection blossomed into friendship and sparked hope, reminding Brandi of the power of shared strength.
Fueled by her experiences, Brandi found her calling. At just 26, she founded the Hereditary Cancer Foundation, an organization dedicated to raising funds and providing services for women and men at risk of developing breast cancer—giving others the same kind of lifesaving support she once needed herself.
Brandi’s journey shows what happens when one life is saved at Boys Town: the impact ripples outward. From a young girl in crisis to a woman who has changed and saved countless lives, her story is nothing short of a miracle moment.
At Boys Town, we see miracles every day. Some are quiet, unfolding in small, steady steps. And some, like Brandi’s, are bold and undeniable—a powerful reminder of how hope can transform not only one life, but many. Please join us in our mission by donating today.
