Papillion-La Vista | 3-3 | OLI – at No. 6 Omaha Central
Comments: No. 2 Elkhorn South gets No. 4 Omaha Westside this week in one of the biggest games statewide for Week 7. Creighton Prep picked up a huge win over Omaha Central in Week 6 and remains at No. 3. Omaha Central stays put at No. 6 keeping its win over Omaha Westside in Week 5 in mind. Papillion-La Vista’s 45-17 win over Kearney opened some eyes, but it does nothing but keep the Titans at No. 7. Columbus comes in at No. 9. Millard West enters at No. 10 due to its head-to-head win over OLI Millard North, who beat last week’s No. 9 Lincoln East, 42-14.
Class B
- Elkhorn North | 6-0 | 1 – at No. 6 Skutt Catholic
- Waverly | 6-0 | 2 – at Plattsmouth
- Norris | 6-0 | 3 – vs. Beatrice
- Bennington | 5-1 | 4 – at Elkhorn

- Gretna | 3-3 | 9 – at Platteview
- McCook | 5-1 | 10 – at Ogallala
OLI:
Plattsmouth | 3-3 | NR – vs. No. 2 Waverly
Comments: As you were. All Top 10 teams won in Week 6, almost all of them rather impressively. No. 1 Elkhorn North will take on No. 6 Skutt Catholic in a huge Week 7 battle. Last season, Elkhorn North defeated Skutt Catholic 28-21 in the regular season. It ended up being Skutt’s only loss in a campaign that ended up resulting in a Skutt Catholic state championship.

OLI:
Aurora | 3-3 | OLI – vs. Lincoln Christian
Milford | 5-1 | OLI – at No. 2 Central City
Omaha Gross | 4-2 | NR – at Omaha Brownell-Talbot
Comments: No. 6 O’Neill picked up its most impressive win of the season over Pierce. Despite its lopsided loss to No. 1 Wahoo, Mount Michael stays put at No. 7 thanks to its win over No. 8 Fort Calhoun in Week 5. Gothenburg comes in at No. 10 this week while Milford was heavily considered for the No. 10 spot. For the Swedes, the only blemish this season was 21-6 Week 5 loss to No. 5 Sidney. Milford has five straight comfortable wins since losing its season opener to No. 9 Syracuse and gets a shot at No. 2 Central City in Week 7.
Class C-2
- Norfolk Catholic | 5-1 | 2 – Idle (FF win over Oakland-Craig)
- Cedar Catholic | 6-0 | 3 – vs. Ponca
- Kearney Catholic | 6-0 | 4 – at Mitchell
- Boone Central | 4-2 | 6 – vs. St. Paul
- Archbishop Bergan | 5-1 | 7 – vs. Tekamah-Herman

OLI:
Lincoln Lutheran | 5-1 | OLI – at Palmyra
Wood River | 5-1 | OLI – at Gibbon
Yutan | 4-2 | NR – at Arlington
Comments: Three-time defending state champion Norfolk Catholic, winners of 44 of its last 45 games, bumps up to No. 1 with its lone loss coming in Week 1 to Bishop Neumann. Malcolm jumps in at No. 6 after its win over previous No. 1 Bishop Neumann. Yutan was also strongly considered for a promotion due to its overtime head-to-head win over Malcolm in which Yutan went for two in overtime and converted to win the game. West Point-Beemer drops out this week to make room for Malcolm. The Cadets will be in the thick of the playoff race and will be very dangerous the postseason.
Class D-1
- Dundy County-Stratton | 6-0 | 2 – at Alma
- Shelby-Rising City | 6-0 | 1 – at Mead
- Sandy Creek | 5-1 | 3 – vs. Exeter-Milligan/Friend

Harington-Newcastle | 4-2 | OLL – at Boyd County
Hemingford | 6-0 | OLI – at Bridgeport
McCool Junction | 5-1 | OLI – vs. Centennial
Pender | 5–1 | OLI– at Wakefield
Comments: Dundy County-Stratton reclaims the top spot after being demoted while Ethan Latta was not playing. Latta’s return in a 47-14 win over North Platte St. Patrick’s ended up being a record setting one with his 30th career interception to break the Eight Man state record. Latta also has over 5,567 offensive yards and 91 touchdowns over his career. Yes, demoting a team to No. 2 that won 84-8 on Friday night seems like a crazy thing to do. No. 3 Sandy Creek sent Sutton out of the Top 10 with a convincing 55-14 win. Ravenna jumps in at No. 10 thanks to six straight wins rather comfortably.
Class D-2
- Archangels Catholic | 6-0 | 1 – at Fullerton

Neligh-Oakdale | 6-0 | OLI – at Elgin/Pope Johnson
Overton | 4-2 | OLI – at Cambridge
Twin Loup | 4-2 | OLI – vs. No. 9 Anselmo-Merna
Comments: There was not a lot of drama in Week 6. Two of the top six won by forfeit, while No. 7 Hitchcock County was able to get a 28-6 win to dump Loomis out of the ratings. Everybody else rolled to convincing victories. Elmwood-Murdock enters the fray at No. 10. Its only blemish of the season came to Class D-1 No. 9 Lourdes Central Catholic in Week 2.
Class D-6
- Garden County | 5-0 | 1 – at No. 6 Leyton (Thurs.)
- Stuart | 4-1 | 2 – vs. No. 8 Hampton
- Red Cloud | 5-0 | 3 – at No. 4 SIlver Lake
- S-E-M | 4-1 | 4 – at Paxton
- Silver Lake | 4-1 | 5 – vs. 3 Red Cloud

OLI:

Comments: Nothing to say, really. Nine of the Top 10 teams won with the exception of No. 2 Stuart, who was enjoying its bye week. There are three big-time matchups in Week 7. Top-ranked Garden County gets another big test with a trip to face unbeaten and No. 6 Leyton on Thursday. No. 6 Silver Lake hosts No. 3 Red Cloud, while No. 8 Hampton gets a shot at defending state champion Stuart.
